Notification of works – State Highway 3 Te Kuiti
Broadspectrum have advised that they plan to undertake pavement repairs on State Highway 3 Te Kuiti between Ward Street and King Street West, in early/mid August 2019.

​​​​​​​Weather permitting, work is expected to be completed over a period of approximately four days from 6am – 6pm.  Stop/go traffic management and speed restrictions will be in place.

Dog registration fees are due tomorrow!

Registration fees fund the cost of providing dog control services in our District and helps us to ensure that we have safe and well controlled dogs in our community.

Positions open for Waitomo District Creative Communities Scheme Funding Assessors
Do you have an interest and knowledge in at least one arts sector? 

We are looking for people to join the Creative Communities Scheme assessment committee; to promote the scheme, provide guidance, analyse applications, allocate the funds to best meet the criteria and be committed to attending the two meetings per year.

There are currently several positions available on the Waitomo District Creative Communities Scheme Committee.  We are particularly interested in hearing from people who are involved in:
  • Māori Creative Communities
  • Youth Creative Communities
  • People involved in the creative space within our communities.

School is back for Term 3, and so are our under 5’s programmes
Wriggle n’ Rhyme 
Every Wednesday from 10.30am – 11am
This free programme promotes active movement and brain development for babies and toddlers aged 2 years and under.  

Toddler time
Every Friday from 10.30am – 11am
This free session is for children aged 2 to 5 years.  Toddler time is an interactive programme with music, crafts, stories and dance. No need to book, just come along!

Come along to the Library for an engaging, free talk from writer Emma Stevens. Emma has written three memoirs, Walking on Ice, Nesting on the Nushagak and Dancing on the Tundra. During her six-year journey in remote bush Alaska, Emma faced unexpected and at times life-threatening situations. Her stories will transport you deep into the heart of the Alaskan wilderness and the Yup’ik people who live there.
